Belarusian Association of Journalists

The Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan association of media workers, founded in 1995 to promote freedom of expression and independent journalism in Belarus. It unites around 1,000 journalists and other media-related professionals from Belarus and abroad. It is represented throughout the country by regional branches. The scope of BAJ activities include monitoring of the media law and law enforcement practice, functioning of mass media in the country; monitoring of elections media coverage in Belarus; holding lectures, seminars, educational programs, contests for journalists; providing legal consultations for journalists; providing information about mass media development.
