This year, all the Ukrainian members of the CSP have formed a coalition to jointly pursue advocacy agenda at the OSCE Human Dimensions Implementation Meeting (HDIM) taking place in Warsaw.
The dramatic developments in Ukraine in recent years are well-known, but the coalition wishes to raise specific instances of human rights violations in areas such as Donbass and Crimea.
“We think that only joint efforts can bring more meaningful discussion about gross human rights violations, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Crimea and Donbass,” said Sasha Delemenchuk (pictured) of Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union.
Her focus during the HDIM will particularly be on the situation for hostages in the break-away regions in Eastern Ukraine.
“We feel concerned about each victim oh human rights violation, especially about the 112 hostages and prisoners of war kept by so-called Lugansk People’s Republic and Donetsk People’s Republic in their torture dungeons,” said Sasha Delemenchuk.
