Member organizations of the Civic Solidarity Platform have been deeply disturbed and shocked to learn of Uzbek authorities’ degrading and perverse treatment of well-known Uzbekistani human rights activist Elena Urlaeva on Sunday 31 May 2015.
Civic Solidarity Platform called on the OSCE Chairperson in Office, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić to speak out in support of imprisoned activists and journalists during his visit to Azerbaijan.
Dear Mr. Dačić,
On April 17 2015, the de facto Security Committee (or the KGB) of the separatist Transnistrian region of Moldova issued a statement describing civil society organisations which receive funds from abroad and are active on the territory of Transnistria as a threat to Transnistrian security.
In December 2014, Kostanay City Court ordered the Department of Internal Affairs of Kostanay region to pay compensation to Rasim Bayramov for torturing him in 2008. Police and procuracy did not accept the ruling and Kostanay Regional Court will consider the police appeal on 5 February 2015.
Recommendations on a wider civil society inclusion in the OSCE response to the crisis in and around Ukraine and challenges to the comprehensive security concept – adopted at the OSCE Parallel Civil Society Conference in Basel on 3 December 2014.
