Венгерский Хельсинкский комитет

The Hungarian Helsinki Committee (HHC) was established in 1989 to monitor government compliance with rights guaranteed under domestic and international law and to recommend amendment of Hungarian legislation, where necessary. It undertakes analysis of legislation and legal practice and makes efforts to influence the legislative process to ensure that domestic law fully respects the principles of human rights. Some of the issues the HHC examines include the rights of asylum seekers in Hungary, the rights of racial and ethnic minorities, and treatment of prisoners. The HHC has provided legal assistance to victims of human rights abuse for almost twenty years.
